Midnight Highlights (“App,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), operated by Midnight Highlights LLC , respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

Our App is designed for teens and adults. Midnight Highlights is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

• Account Information: Email address, display name, subscription status (via Firebase Auth and Firestore).
  
• Usage & Preferences: Episodes listened to, minutes listened, and favorites (stored in Firestore).
  
• Technical Data: Device type, app usage analytics (via Firebase Analytics).
  
• Diagnostics: Crash reports, which may include device type, operating system, and error details (via Firebase Crashlytics).
  
• Content Data: Audio files streamed from Firebase Cloud Storage.

Important Notes:

We do not show third-party advertisements, sell user data, or track users across apps or websites owned by other companies. Some usage and diagnostic data is collected in a way that is not linked to your identity.

4. Why We Collect Information

We use the data collected for:

• Account Management: To allow sign-in, subscriptions, and entitlements.
  
• Personalization: To let you resume playback and save your favorites.
  
• Reliability & Improvement: To monitor crashes, improve app performance, and measure usage.

5. Where Data Is Stored

Your data is stored and processed securely through Google Firebase services, including:

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data is only shared with trusted service providers that help operate our app (such as Firebase, Apple, and Google). These providers process data solely to provide services on our behalf.

7. Payments

• Subscriptions and payments are processed through Apple App Store and Google Play Store in-app purchases (IAP).
  
• Midnight Highlights does not collect or store credit card or billing details.
  
• Apple and Google handle purchase processing, renewals, and refunds under their own policies.
• Trials: If you start a free trial, Apple or Google may share subscription status information with us so we can determine your access to premium content. We do not receive your payment details.
  

8. Retention of Information

We retain your personal data:

• While your account is active.
  
• Until you request deletion.
  
• For up to 12 months after inactivity, after which we will delete or anonymize your data unless retention is required for legal or security reasons.
  

9. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (such as the GDPR or CCPA), including the right to object to or restrict certain processing. Step 2: Verify your identity (we may ask you to confirm details tied to your account).
Step 3: We will respond within 30 days.

11. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including secure authentication and encrypted data storage through Firebase. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

12. Intellectual Property & Content

Midnight Highlights provides original commentary and bedtime sports audio. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially licensed by any sports leagues or teams. We do not provide official league audio, video, or logos.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after updates means you accept the revised policy.
